He placed 336 photographs, of mostly early settlers of Muscatine City, in nine large picture frames then donated them to Musser Public Library in 1926. His subjects were most often the people, places and events that together created the life of a growing community. Tens of thousands of glass negatives of Grossheim’s work have been saved to tell their stories to future generations.
