Submitted by Phyllis Hazen, February 9, 2020SIXTY TO RECEIVE DIPLOMAS SATURDAY County superintendent of Schools M. F. Cronin today completed arrangements for the common schools graduation which will be held at the Orpheum Theatre on next Saturday afternoon at 1:45 o’clock. A program will be offered by those who secured particularly high averages in the final examinations, and prof. Arthur MacMurray, of Ames College, will address the students and their friends. The valedictorian of the class of sixty is John Tarrant of the No. 7 school in Wilton township, who also won the county spelling contest last winter. The present class is the largest in the history of the county, sixty children being enrolled.

Valedictory – John Tarrant. Music – Orchestra. Address, “The Bulwark of Our Nation” – Professor Arthur MacMurray, head of Department of Public speaking. Ames College. Presentation of Diplomas – M. F. Cronin, County superintendent of schools. Music – Orchestra.
