Enrollment in High School, Grades Expected to Total 325.Wilton – Wilton schools will open Monday, Sept. 3, according to an announcement made today by Supt. A.C. Baumgartner. The building has been thoroughly renovated, desks varnished and several rooms re-painted and every detail is in readiness for the new school year. The enrollment is expected to reach the 325 mark of last year, which will be approximately 150 I the high school and 175 in the grades. Included will be approximately 56 high school tuition pupils and 14 in the grades.
New classes will be organized in commercial law and bookkeeping, as this course is offered every two years. Mr. Baumgartner will be in his office on Aug. 29 and 30 to give pupils the opportunity to register before opening day. Classes will be organized Monday morning and school will close at noon for the remainder of the day in order that students may secure text books and be ready for work Tuesday morning.
The corps of teachers is as follows: Superintendent, A.C. Baumgartner, economics, agriculture; principle, Elmer Swanson, commercial and physics; Alfred Hanson English; Leota Schnack, athletics, social science; Thelma Ness, general science, domestic science; Harris Mason, mathematics; Jennie Martin, music.
Grades: Mrs. Lucile Darting, 7th and 8th; Miss Marie Marolf 6th; Miss Elizabeth Martin 4th and 5th; Miss Marjorie Latchaw 2nd and 3rd; Mrs. Vesta Murdock, 1st; and A.D. Winsell, custodian.
