WHO MARRIED THEM?
List of Marriage Licenses Never Returned to Court House
WEDDING RECORD INCOMPLETEBelow is a list of thirty-eight marriages of which there is no record at the Court House. All others from 1890 till 1899 have been accounted for. By way of explanation to those who have never had any experience in this line we would state that when a wedding takes place, first a license is issued to the parties of which there is an entry made at the Court House. When the ceremony has been performed the clerk is informed and another entry made. The reader will have to draw his own conclusions as to the following facts. The Journal does not attempt to account for it, and the county officials cannot.
