Muscatine County, Iowa
BLOOMINGTON - MUSCATINE FRIENDS
CHURCH RECORDS
1859-1980

Transcribed and submitted by Beverly Gerdts, Bloomington-Muscatine Friends Clerk & Board President of the Meeting, November 9, 2015

Found, tucked away in the church, was a large gray book, about 16 inches tall by 8 inches wide and 3 inches thick. It looked a bit like an accountants book but the headings were like you see in the lay out with name, birth date, parent name etc. Inside the front cover someone had written Blooming Friends Church on the next page towards the bottom was written 1856.

Bloomington Friends Church was the name until they merged with Muscatine when it closed in 1973. The name of the church was then changed to Bloomington-Muscatine Friends.

The names in this ledger were listed alphabetical through the early 1980's. After that names are just jotted on note paper and stuck here and there. There was also a spiral notebook which listed everyone who came from the Muscatine Friends church when it merged.
