Three Schools In Pike Township Sold At Auction

Three Pike township schools which have not been used for school purposes for some time were sold to the highest bidders at auctions held Wednesday afternoon.

The highest price was paid for the Wild Rose school, northwest of Nichols. This building has a basement and furnace and brought $1,375. The buyer was the Rev. Noble a. Bolinger.

The Buffalo Bluff School, west of Nichols, went to Robert Kirkpatrick at a price of $1,150. Kirkpatrick also purchased a pony shed at the site for a price of $50.

Omer Jones, Muscatine, was the high bidder for the Willow Grove school southwest of Nichols. His offer was $925.

Will R. Schmitt, secretary of the Pike township school board, served as auctioneer. There were good crowds at each place and there was brisk bidding for each structure.
