I am looking for information about John S. JOHNSON and his wife, Eva JOHNSON. I would like to know when they came from the country of Norway and names of their children (if they were born in country of Norway or in Benton County IA, USA). A son, John Henry JOHNSON was born in Benton County and his son, Porter J. JOHNSON was born at Watkins, Benton County. John married Anna TWEDT of Benton County. John and Ann moved from Benton County to McCallsburg, IA. In 1913 John JOHNSON (from Benton County) informally changed his, and his children's family name to SOLBERG. The name was not officially changed but from that year on there was no further reference of the name, JOHNSON. Porter J. JOHNSON's (kown now as SOLBERG) son is Lowell LeRoy SOLBERG of Forest City, IA. Lowell is my husband. Lowell would like to have information about Peter S JOHNSON, John Henry JOHNSON and any of their brothers and sisters who moved with Peter JOHNSON and wife Eva to Benton County (from Norway, Europe).

CLARK, Elva (born 1866, died 1945) I am trying to find what school/college Elva CLARK (later married as WILDE) attended. In the IA Gen Web bio of the Edwin CLARK family, she was teaching in or near Van Horne in 1887 when she was 21. Daughter of Edwin CLARK. She was born in 1866, married to Albert WILDE in 1891. I am trying to find what normal school, college or art school she attended before teaching in Van Horne. Assume is would be 1885 or 1886 when in college or "Normal" school.
