SIEKERT posted by April Kyle Bladh on Saturday, March 20, 2010

I am seeking any information on the two SIEKERT families who were in the 1880 Benton Co., Iowa Census. I need to know if there is a connection.

!1880 Florence, Benton, Iowa Census:
SIEKERT, Charles, 69, b. Bohemia,
dau. Josaphine, 30, b. Bohe., son Frank, 22, b. IL. (This is all I have on this family).

!In Homer, Benton, IA, 1880 Census:
SIEKERT, Bernhart, 37, (Bernhart died bef 1920 in Neb) he & parents b. Prussia
Anna, 25,(Anna died after 1930 in NEB.) she & parents b. Saxony
Ch. b. Iowa: Minnie, 4; Evelena, 2; Richard, 3 mos. (Herman also was born in 1885 in Benton Co., Iowa).

By 1887 the Bernard & Anna SIEKERT family moved to Dawes County, Nebraska and had Helena in 1887, Berhard Anton in 1889 and Otto SIEKERT in 1896.

Any help would be appreciated.

TUCKER posted by Gerald Anderson on Monday, March 22, 2010

Enos S. TUCKER appeared in the 1860 Benton County census in cue township and in the 1870 Benton County census in Florence township, but it appears he died in 1871 in Florence, Wright County, Iowa. Is there a way to tell why he was in Wright County in 1871 and did he have anything to do with naming Florence in Wright County since there is a similar name with the Florence in Benton County?

STEELE, SUBRA posted by Kevin Subra on Saturday, April 3, 2010

Looking for any information on anyone named SUBRA in the Benton County area. Francis SUBRA and her grandson George SUBRA are both buried in the Evergreen Cemetery (I've visited the grave site). I'd love to find out more about the SUBRA family that lived in the area (possibly Jackson Township) in the 1880's. Where they lived; death records; schooling records; etc.

Stephen and Margaret (STEELE) SUBRA moved to the Vinton area from Dodge County, MN in the early 1880's and had several children while living there (Richard, George, Steven, Nellie, and Pearl). They appear to have farmed while there, and appear to have moved back to Dodge County, MN prior to 1890. Thanks!
