Joseph and Margaret SANKEY were residents of Benton County (Vinton and Blairstown) from abt 1850 to 1873 when the family moved to Walnut, Iowa. All of their children were born in the county. John, Winfeild Scott,Crawford, Josep W., Charles P.,Lee J., Frank J. Mattie Belle, Willaim or Willis, and Lottie M.

My ggg grandparents Reuben and Catherine SCOTT are listed in the 1870 census as living in Belle Plaine, in Benton County. Their oldest child, Foster SCOTT, my gg grandfather, is listed with them. The family was in the Marion County, Indiana, census in 1860, and Foster SCOTT was back in Marion County by the late 1880s. I don't know what happened to Reuben and Catherine after 1870. Any information that could be provided in regard to this family would be greatly appreciated.

Glayds DILLON, my father's birth mother. on birth record: she lived in Vinton,in 1916 when he was born,in Polk Co., IA. his birth name was Gerold DILLON, in 1917 he was adopted to Clarence A. and Mary HAYES, and they changed his name to Robert Harry HAYES, and he later changed it to Robert Bryant HAYES Sr. any info on her family or her would be greatly appreciated. her husband, their dates of birth, mariage, mother, father, etc.

I am looking for Calvin COTTRELL and found him in the 1900 census living with William COTTRELL and Melinda REDDINGTON and 3 other boys. In the 1895 census, these boys have the last name REDDINGTON. Does anyone know why this is and what their relation is to William and Melinda? Thank you.

DYER, Worthington came to Vinton in 1854 and married Mary ? about 1862. They had a daughter, Fanny in 1864. Worthington was a teamster. Fanny was raised by her aunt Phidelia DYER ELLIS in Libertyville, Il. after her mother Mary died in the early 1870's. Worthington is on the 1885 census, living in Vinton as a widow. I would like to know more about the family and especially when Worthington died and where he is buried.

William & Anna GARBERS lived in Benton Co, I believe Wm d abt 1943; Anna d 1909. Son, Frank m Bertha; have no death info. Another son, August/Gus m Kate/Kathryn/Catherine; have no death info on them. Daughter, Louise m John FRANZENBURG; have no death info on them. Daughter, Clara married William PICKERING; he d Nov 1972, Benton Co. Another daughter, Anna m Albert H. STUART, he d Newhall, Benton Co, IA. Daughter, Alice; have no info except b abt 1893 Benton Co. They had 4 other children, no names for two, and two sons, Alabert & Harry. 3 of the last 4 died before 1909. Need help, please.
