"W.PROBERT" was listed as a dealer in agricultural implements in Blairstown,Benton County, Iowa in the late 1800s. I am searching for the information on descendants of James and Asenath Stover PROBERT, who came to farm in Shell Rock Township, Butler County, Iowa circa 1860 with some of their adult children, among whom was a William L. Probert, that could be well be this man. Their other children in the general area were James Harvey, Charles L., Russell W. and Luellon S. Probert. Any information on "W. Probert, dealer in agricultural implements", eg biographical material, obituary, etc.etc.or on any PROBERTS greatly appreciated.

In the 1878 Benton Co. History, under the surname SCHEURER, that family is said to belong to the Evangelical Church. Is that church still in existance in Benton Co. (or LaPorte City)? Is that the full name of the church? Are there records available? Where? Thank you for your help.
