Reseaching the following families that were in the 1856 Benton Co. census: CRAWFORD, D. L, and son, Samuel HULL, Elijah and Elizabeth PATTON I believe my Crawford line married into the Hull and Patton families.

Joseph KERN married Mary OLIVA. Their children are Christopher, Bertha, Ed and Edna. Would like more info on all the above as well as Joseph's siblings (know of Fred, should be two more) and who their parents, grandparents were. Bertha b. 10-25-1895 Benton, Co., d. 4-1982 Keystone, Ia. Bertha was married to Eldo Raymond BIRCH; they lived in Blairstown, IA. Would like dates/places of birth, death, marriages etc. of all the above. Joseph KERN is my great-grandfather. Bertha (KERN) & Eldo Raymond BIRCH are my grandparents. Thanks for your help.

Re: William H. SHIPMAN, born ca 1816 probably in Stratford,CT. Father was Capt. John Grimsey SHIPMAN, sea captain said to have been born in England. Wm. was a carpenter in Bridgeport, CT removing with wife Sarah & children Amy & Charles to Iowa by 1860 when he is age 45 on the 1860 census of Cedar, Benton Co.He last appears on the 1870 census of Taylor where his father is marked foreign born.Sarah is a widow in Vinton in 1880. I am looking for William's obituary, cemetery or undertaker's records to find info about his father's birth. Thanks so much for your help.

Seeking information on my Great Grandmother Adeline CHAMBERS born January 28, 1870 in Urbana, Iowa died December 12, 1922 in Oak Park MN. Her father was William CHAMBERS. Her mother was Lucinda Helms WAYMAN. Adeline married George Washington YOST March 13, 1887 in Lehigh, Webster Co. Iowa. Any information would be appreciated.
