FAIRVIEW CEMETERY and Church located on Highway 218 northeast of La Porte City, Iowa. Does anyone know who I can contact for information on what happened to this church and who is the caretakers of the cemetery now? I do not believe that anyone has been buried in there for a long time as the state has placed a road right up to the graves. I would like to find a complete listing of all people buried in the cemetery as so far most of them are my family members. Thank you in advance for any help!

Looking for Josephine DASH who married Samuel THOMPSON, Dec 24, 1902 in Benton Co. Samuel must have divorced her as he moved to MN and she stayed in Benton Co.

Catherine WIESE m. Charles Fredrick JACOBS. Her parents were Peter & Catherine WIESE. She was the only child to immigrate with them. The WIESE were from the Probstei area of Germany. Peter WIESE 1816-1884 and his wife Catherine 1824-1907 died in Mt. Auburn, Benton Co., Iowa. Their daughter, Catherine married Charles Frederick JACOBS about 1892 in Benton County, Iowa.

Enoch F. MURPHY, wife Elizabeth and children moved from Scott Co, IN to Vinton, IA around 1850. He died in civil war in 1863 in Memphis, TN of disease. What happened to Elizabeth and the children? Seeking any info on Enoch, Elizabeth and children.

Hello, my name is Wendi and I'm in Ohio working on my family tree. I have traced a member to the state of Iowa and was hoping for some help. His name is JAMES MALLORY. He came to Iowa from Meigs Co., Oh in about 1895 with his wife ARABELLE (She goes by BELLE) in 1895 I find him in Vinton, Benton Iowa then in 1900 JAMES and BELLE are boarders in Fairview, Jones, Iowa. They are ages 45(James) and 46(Belle) I can not find them after that. I was hoping someone could give suggestions. I found on Ancestry a JAMES MALLORY died in 1904, but I'm not sure if this is him. The Ancestry reads: James Mallory Death Dte: 28 Oct 1909 Page #: 70 Relative: 78 Level Info: Grave Records of Allamakee, Johnson, Howard and Lucas Counties, Adair, Gothrie, Madison, Marion Johnson County, Iowa Any help would be great. I would like to know if this is him and if not is he still in Iowa after 1900. I have lost him at this point. Thank you,

All indications show this family were farmers in Vinton, Iowa during the 1900's. If you can give me some details as to your connections, I will be happy to send you these items. I am looking for information for great, great,great Grandparents Mason and Elizabeth PERRY. Their daughter, Mary Ann was my great great grandmother. I believe they are buried in Benton County, but have not found their graves. I would like to have more information about them, especially Elizabeth's maiden name. Any help is greatly appreciated.
