HETRICK posted by Sharon Cheney on Friday, January 4, 2008

Looking for information on Isaac HETRICK family that was in Benton county in the 1885 census of Iowa. It was listed as them living in Ringold. I can't find a reference to that city or area. The HETRICK family consisted as wife Sarry (Sarah), children Phoebe age 18, Arminisia (Mary) age 16, Daniel age 11, Walter age 8, Iola (Viola) age 5 and Calvin age 0. It is possible that Phoebe met her husband in the area. He was William Stace. Isaac is in Union county Oregon by 1900. When did the family leave Iowa? Any help would be appreciated.

RICHARDS posted by jean on Sunday, February 3, 2008

Looking for any information on RICHARDS family, living in Lenox, Benton County in 1880. Charles Knox b1852 in Canada, Julia Anna Higgins Richards b1857 in Iowa, son John b1880, orphan Ava Speck b1867, and the mother of Charles - Philipa, b1830 in England. Philipa shows up in a nearby Benton County township in 1885 state census, but the children/grandchildren are not living with her. They have a daughter born in Iowa in 1885, and another daughter born in Kansas in 1886. Perhaps they were enroute during the census. Any info appreciated. (Is there a major newspaper at the time that might have covered this Benton area?)

HARTY, RAFFERTY posted by Maureen Rafferty Sorensen on Tuesday, May 27, 2008

Hoping to connect with descendants of Ellen Crelly RAFFERTY HARTY, who died in Van Horne, Benton County, Iowa 7/4/1937. Ellen's first marriage was to John Francis RAFFERTY who died 7/21/1873 in a train robbery by the Jesse James Gang outside of Adair, Iowa. There were two sons from her first marriage: James T. RAFFERTY and John Francis RAFFERTY (jr.). Ellen's second marriage was to Phillip HARTY. I believe Ellen had 8 children with Phillip. I am interested in any/all genealogy regarding Ellen and her offspring--and particularly interested in old family photographs (identified and unindentified in the hopes of matching up to some of my RAFFERTY images), postcards, etc. and a photo of her gravesite.

KEAGLE posted by Ron Callen on Friday, June 13, 2008

I'm looking for information on my ancestors, the KEAGLE family, who may haved lived in Benton County in the mid 19th to early 20th centuries. Levi S. KEAGLE is named as a dentist and mayor of Vinton in 1884 as well as a Civil War veteran (IL 74th Infantry). He may be my ancestor. The family originated in north central PA and then (if my identification is correct) several brothers moved west. The Levi in my family was born in PA in Mar 1835. I've also found an F.B. KEAGLE, carpenter, in Vinton during this period but have no known association between my family and him. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
