PHELPS, Lewis L born Feb 29, 1868 in Benton county. His siblings that may have been born in Benton county include: George Homer born Jan 9, 1870 and Edward born Dec 7, 1871 and Mina born May 16, 1874 and Ida born March 22, 1880. TRYON, Jesse found in 1880 census but the 1890 was lost in fire. Farmed just outside of Vinton, wife Olivia later died in Washington State. Daughter Mary married Oscar RUSH, she is buried at the soldiers home as her second husband was a civil war vet. No trace of Oscar RUSH. Jesse Rush is buried at Evergreen Cemetary, Vinton. Mazie married Will CHRISMAN and lived until death at Lafayette in Linn County.

WRZESINSKI Teofil; also spelled WREZINSKI; Wife- Veronica PENKALA. Settled in Vinton, IA after immigration in 1887 after discharge from Prussian Army. Immigrated with brothers John and George. Lived in Vinton, IA from 1887 to 1893 when they moved to Milwaukee, WI and then to Adams Co., WI where Teofil died in 1940. Later census records show 2 children born in Vinton but no birth records found at courthouse in Vinton. I'm looking information regarding children who were born or died during that time.

MCCORKLE, Willard Homer Would anyone have any info on the above mentioned person? Born 1901 in Benton Co.(Shellsburg?). Had one sister: Marie (schoolteacher). He died in 1976. Lived for a time in Ames, IA. Wife's name was Alta (Gayle) MCCORKLE. 3 children Jerry, Winell, Alice-Kathryn. I am trying to find out gen roots before him that would possibly tie back to Scotland. Any help is appreciated!
