BUTLER, WALTON posted by Ann M. Bizer on Sunday, February 2, 2003

My ancestor came to Tama and Benton County, Iowa about 1850. My great-greatgrand father's name was William WALTON. My great-greatgrand mother's name was Laura Jane BUTLER - WALTON. She died in Benton county about 1882. They had eleven children, Horace, Lovina, James, Samuel, Olive (my line), George, Mary Ann, Sarah Ann, Laura Amanda, Elizabeth (died young) and Mariah Jane. I think that there may be decedents still living in the Benton area, but I don't know who they are. I do have quite a bit of information about this family that I am willing to share. I would like to be in contact with other who are researching this Walton family. My address is: Ann M. Bizer 11916 Tobler Trail Austin, Texas 78753

HIX posted by Jack Hammell on Monday, February 3, 2003

HIX. Seeking information on family of Henry HIX and Veronica Koestler HIX. Both were born in Germany and immigrated about 1865. First son, Henry Hartman Hix, was born in Benton County in 1878. This son reported that the family moved, in 1903, to South Dakota. Father Henry HIX was also reportedly buried in Benton County between 1900 and 1910. But the family does not appear in either the 1880 or 1900 census of Benton County. Any information on HIX family in Benton County would be appreciated.
