The Fairfield Weekly Ledger |
We do not have clippings from all issues for this year but we have almost all of them. Some issues will be very short since there is little genealogical or historically significant information to be found in that issue. We hope you enjoy reading the clippings we have and we hope you find the name of someone from your family. You may select the issue you wish to read by clicking on the issue date in the table below. We are grateful to Margaret Stephens for reading all those newspapers and assembling the scrapbook and to Joey Stark for transcribing them.
Since these articles are transcribed by volunteers we can not guarantee they are 100% accurate but our volunteers are very good and make few mistakes. Some spelling may seem incorrect (and it is by today's standards); nonetheless we have copied the information just as it was in the newspaper. Since we are also only transcribing information from a newspaper the accuracy of the information itself is only as good as the newspaper from which it is taken. Please check all information against primary documents and choose what to keep for yourself.
We do not yet have an index of all the names and articles for the year, containing over 3,000 names, however this may be available some time in the future. When it is complete, you will reach that index by clicking the INDEX link at the beginning of the table below. This index will be searched by the Search Engine on the Main Page of this site. In addition, the transcribed pages will also be searched by our search engine. You may search individual issues of the paper when viewing them by using your "Find in page" button under the "Edit" button on your browser. Good luck in your research.
