Estray cow.—Taken up by J. M. HAMMOND, in Round Prairie t’p. Jeff. Co., Iowa, Jan. 7, 1868, one white cow, with red spceks [sic]; red ears, and part of the head red; right hind leg red; supposed to be tour [sic] years old last spring; appraised at $24. Filed Feb. 5, 1868. WM. LONG, Clerk.

Sheriff’s Sale
By virtue of an execution to me directed from the
Clerk of the District Court of Jefferson county, Iowa. I will offer
for sale on
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 27th, 1868,
at the front door of the Court-House in the city of
Fairfield, Iowa, between the hours of 9 o’clock A.M. and 4 o’clock P M
, sale to commence at 1 o’clock P.M. of said day, for cash to the highest
bidder, the following described real estate, to-wit: The West half of the
Southeast quarter, and the East half of the Southwest quarter of section
No. one (1), Township seventy-three (73) North, of Range eleven (11), west,
on the county and State aforesaid. Said property was taken in execution
and levied upon as the property of Robert F. MARSHALL, Agnes E. MARSHALL,
Geo. PEASE, as administrator of TAYLOR, deceased, Robert CONOVER and Harriet
H. CONOVER, to satisfy a judgement in favor of Joseph E. WILSON, rendered
on the 9th day of January, 1868. JACOB S. GANTZ, Sheriff.

Fairfield, Iowa, between the hours of 9 o’clock A.M. and 4 o’clock P.M.,
sale to commence at 1 o’clock P.M. of said day, for cash to the highest
bidder, the following described real estate, to-wit: Lot No. 10,
Block No. 27, new plat of Fairfield, in the County and State aforesaid.
Said property was taken in execution and levied upon as the property of
Wickliffe M. CLARK and Mary Ella CLARK to satisfy a judgement in favor
of Mary A. PERRY rendered on the 4th day of September, 1866. J. S.

STOLEN MARE
On the night of February 4th, a mare was stolen from
the stable of the undersigned, living two miles East of Salina, described
as follows: The mare is 14 years old, heavy with foal; black
color with three white feet; small in size but heavy built. No shoes
on. A rope around her neck.
Any information that will lead to her recovery
will be liberally paid for.
