Bankrupt } District of Iowa
A warrant in Bankruptcy was issued against the estate of F.
M. STEWART, Jefferson county, said State of Iowa, who has been adjudged
a Bankrupt upon the petition of his creditors, and the payment of any debts
and delivery of any property belonging to such Bankrupt to him or for his
use, and the transfer of any property by him is forbidden by law.
A meeting of the creditors of said Bankrupt to prove their debts and to
choose one or more assignees of his estates, will be held at the Court
of Bankruptcy, to be holden at the office of the Register in Bankruptcy,
Room No. 6, Estes House, in the city of Keokuk, before John BRUCE, Register,
on the 20th day of June, A. D., 1868, at 10 o’clock A.M.

Our Heroic Dead.--- By notice of proper committee published herewith, it will be seen that General Order, No. 11, published by us last week, will be observed by the soldiers of this place. It is desired that our citizens generally will be present at these exercises. Our gallent [sic] and heroic dead are deserving of all honor:
Soldiers.--- All soldiers desirous of paying a tribute of respect
to deceased comrades will meet at the Court House in Fairfield on Saturday,
May 30, at 1½ o’clock P.M. Appropriate ceremonies will be
conducted. The widows and children of soldiers are invited to participate.
Ladies are requested to gather and bring flowers and evergreens with them.
We hope all citizens will spend a few hours with us in this act of honor
to the dead.
