LOUISA COUNTY, IOWA |
Foreword We have earnestly tried to make this history as interesting as was possible. Those who could have given us information and dates have long since gone to their last resting place.
We have tried to give the future generation a brief glimpse of what our ancestors endured, that we might have the abundance we have today. And the lessons we learn from the courageous generations back, should help us to live a better example, for the generations coming. Each of us leads some influence over the lives of someone, and it is up to us to make that influence good. Somewhere in the life of each of us is a lesson that should not be lost upon those who follow after.
We have tried to make the dates and events as correct as was possible with so few records. And we earnestly hope you will forgive all mistakes and errors. Besides the actual records. We have tried to give you a little visit into the past. Just a neighbor to neighbor chat.
It was impossible to mention all the nice people who have made up the life of Fredonia. And we have not left any out deliberately, but of the lack of space and information.
We sincerely hope you enjoy it. I dedicate this to all the generations of your children and grandchildren of this date.
