COME VISIT our Museum with Genealogy Library, One-Room County School House and Country Church.

Special exhibits include Native Amerian Artifacts, a Salute to our Armed Forces, Toy Room, Grandma's Bedroom
& Photo Collection of People and Places in Louisa County.
Group Tours may be arranged. Admission is free, however donations are appreciated.

The facilities include the Louisa Stage and a dining room which is available to rent for gatherings.
The Country Church is also available for special events and weddings.

The purpose of the Louisa County Historical Society shall be to discover, collect and preserve, and disseminate the history and cultures of the County of Louisa in eastern Iowa.

  The Great Outdoor Adventure - Program consists of a few fishing tales, many antique motors, rods and reels and lots of artifacts. Presenters will be: Bill Aspelmeier, John Guyer, Todd Shutt, Tom Woodruff, “Buffalo Man” Lindell Winter and Bill Sharar. All donations go toward building the “Fishing Shack” at LCHS. For more information call Norma McCormac at 319-728-8818. Thursday, May 16, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  Come see our salute to Armed Forces Day with military vehicles on display in our parking lot. The museum will be open for viewing of our military room and other displays. A free will offering lunch will be served from 12 pm to 1 pm. Saturday, May 19th beginning at 9 a.m.
June Board Meetng Thursday, June 20, 10:00 a.m.
  Annual Tractor Ride. Cost is $30.00 per tractor. $10.00, per tractor guest for lunch. Registration begins 8 a.m. Tractors depart at 9 p.m. Lunch will be served when tractors return to museum. Saturday, June 23rd

August Car Show and Variety Show At the Museum. All cars, tractors, and motorcycles welcome! Car Cruise begins at 3:00 p.m. featuring Memory Lane Cruisers of Southeast Iowa. Supper - serving begins at 5:00 p.m. Variety Show starts at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, August 4th

September Fall Festival ~ LCHS Museum, including the school and church will be open for tours. Live demonstrations will be held on corn grinding, butter-making and the use of the spinning wheel. The Vendors will have crafts, antiques, bake sale items. A free will offering Lunch will be served on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The menu includes: Creamed chicken over biscuits, coleslaw, drink and dessert. Saturday September 15 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.

October Civil War Saturday

A Ladies Vintage Style Show of Past Fashions
Along with the programs, many Civil War items will be on display.
Civil War Music will be played. In addition, samples will be served of Civil War era foods.
A free will donation lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
