        Mr. and Mrs. Teel came to Fredonia in 1929. He was a native of West Virginia, and came with his parents to Iowa in 1901. Mrs. Teel was born in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. They are the parents of a wonderful family of twelve children: Ray, Velma, Francis, Glenn, Irene, Gail, Dorothy, Carol, Eunice, Randall, Mildred and Louis.

        Ray was united in marriage to Arlene Hayes, and have three children and make their home in Washington, Iowa. Velma became the wife of Clifford Curtis, lives in Fredonia and have no children. Francis was united in marriage to Estella Kennedy, have a nice family of six children, and reside in Winthrop, Iowa. Glenn was in the infantry in World War II, stationed in the Philippines, and as a prisoner of the Japs, lost his life there.

        Irene became the wife of Joseph W. Jones, and resides in Washington D. C. Gail became the wife of Darrell Boudre, resides in Wapello, Iowa and have three children and one grandchild. Dorothy is employed as a secretary of the Federal Government, at Washington D. C. Carol became the wife of A. J.. Varner, and have a four children, and make their home in Abingdon, Illinois. Eunice is a school teacher and has taught in Washington D. C. , for some time.

        Randall was united in marriage to Ruby Orr, have two children and reside in Mt. Union , Iowa. Mildred became the wife of Harry Smith, have two children,and their home is in Burlington,Iowa. Mr. Smith passed away March 26, 1956. And Louis was united in marriage to Dorothy Harrison, and have one child. Lois is a sergeant in the infantry, and stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He has spent three years in Germany, and eighteen months in Newfoundland.

        This wonderful family grew up in our community and it is always a pleasure to hear of their progress. The family moved to Columbus Junction, in 1943, and Mr. Teel passes away in 1944.
