have you tried finding their birth records. I know most of unwed births are covered up so you can't see them but sometimes they may have missed and it wasn't covered up. also have you tried DNA? I talked a fb friend into doing ancestry DNA and she came up with three hits, all from her bio family. which orphanage were they in? not sure about homes for unwed mothers but the university of iowa hospital had residence halls for unwed mothers. if you can give more information maybe we can find something for you
