The probate clerk in Wapello County has already told me the records will NEVER be returned to Wapello County. She did not know where the records would go after they are microfilmed. All she knew was there were no plans for them to be returned to the county for safe keeping. So, if that is true the actual records will not be available in the future for anyone to look at.
I'll ask the Family History Center if they know where the original records will go after microfilming.
Sorry I didn't ask "the right question" in your opinion.
