My father, Ralph Kenneth WILLIAMS, was born in Moscow, Muscatine,
Iowa Sept. 27, 1903, died July 16, 1958 in Jonesboro, AR. I am seeking any
information on his family: father Louis Daniel WILLIAMS 7-22-1880 to
3-21-1948; mother Clara Susana HIRSCHMANN (12-7-1878 to 8-6-1965); Ralph's
siblings were Lyle Russell WILLIAMS b. abt June 1905, Grace Lucile WILLIAMS,
b.abt 1906, Paul Kevin WILLIAMS, b. abt 1908. Louis Daniel WILLIAM's
parents were Jud WILLIAMS (b. July 1856 in Muscatine, Iowa, d. Jan. 1, 1916)
and Alice HENDERSON (b. abt. 1858 in Muscatine, Iowa, and died 1933. Clara
HIRSCHMANN's parents were John HIRSCHMANN, (b. April 12, 1828 in
Bavaria,Germany, d. March 31, 1915) and Didemma HEDDLESTON (b. Jan 5, 1838
and d. Aug. 11, 1897.
I have a question about Susanna Hirschman (not Clara Susanna Hirschmann) who
is buried in the Moscow Cemetary. Who does she belong to? I don't have a
clue to who she is.
Also, any information at all on any of these people will be greatly
appreciated. I don't know when my ancestors arrived in Iowa or why some of
them migrated to Marked Tree, Arkansas. What was their jobs? Were there
other relatives besides the ones I've listed.
Thanks in advance for any information.

My grandfather has 11 brothers and sisters and we know all their history but
cannot find their father and mother information. I have Jacob Kilburn born
July 27, 1877 and my grandfather is Jacob Kilburn, Jr.. born March 1, 1923.
I cannot find the father from 1877. For my grandmother, Shirley (Lewis,
Kilburn) Hidlebaugh, I cannot find her father, Raymond Lewis. I know her
mother's history but there isn't any further back either. Violet (Hain,
Lewis) Ford so I cannot find the Raymond Lewis or Violet Hain's parents. We
have some links to Oklahoma but I think most of our history is in Muscatine
and the area. Shirley and Jacob were married in Rock Island county for
sure, if you need anything else just ask. I am not sure what you need. For
the most part I just need some sort of lead as where to find the parents of
someone and since I am starting from very recent I thought it would be easy
but I am finding that that is not so. The names in ( ) are the maiden
name and then the first marriage name and finally the name they died with.
I would appreciate any assistance. Thanks ahead of time!!!

Subject: William A. Clark

From: Donna Sousa
Let me explain what I am trying to find.....
My friends grandmother was,
CELIA LOUISE CLARK
born Aug 1884 (per census 1900)
died May 23, 1919, in childbirth
married to Clifford Merle Michener June 1, 1912
buried in Oak Ridge Cemetary, West Liberty, Iowa
She lived in West Liberty with her husband and 3 children, the older 2 died
as small children, and in May 1919 had one more baby daughter, and Celia died
in childbirth. This left her husband with a new baby and a little son 1 1/2
years old. So he gave these 2 children up to friends for adoption.
This little daughter was my friend, Karol's mother, and the new family moved
to Corvallis, Oregon. Their names were Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Felzien, he was
a dentist. The baby's name was Mary Jean Felzsien, b. May 19, 1919 in Iowa
City. (Celia's sister and husband took the little boy. Their names were
Maude and Carr Prime.)
Karol wants to know who Celia Louise's parents were, and it seems that they
possibly are from the William A. and Louise Clark family, and may be a
grandaughter????
I guess that the next step would be to check the cemetary records at the Oak
Ridge Cemetary, see what her marker says, and also see who is buried around
her, which would probably be her family. William A. and Louise Clark may be
buried there, too??
Do you have record listings for this cemetary that you could check? I would
appreciate this very much.
Thanks again,
Donna Sousa

I am trying to find out if my great-grandfather, Walker Nicholson died in
Muscatine. It would have been 1865, 66, or 67. His will was probated in
Jackson County, In., in 1867, but I cannot find where he is buried. If you
could search death records for that time period I will cover any costs
incurred. If you can't, thanks anyway. Jerry Nicholson

Was 'surfing' using my surname, came upon a site 'Moscow Cemetery', piqued my interest as I was born on a farm near Moscow, November, 1933. I have recently, through
contacts with living relatives, tried to put together a 'family tree' of Birkhofer's, as I know them. If you would be so kind as to direct me in my search for 'Birkhofer's', please
do so to the above e-mail address. I think I have my immediate family history from the immigration of my Grandfather, Fred, in the late 1880s. Anything you could direct me
to would be appreciated. I am looking through the Muscatine county web page. Thank you.

I am searching for information about my gg grandparents, Charles Wesley Wisner and Sarah Kunkel Wisner. They had a son, Oscar Francis Wisner, born on a farm near Wilton Junction, Muscatine County, Iowa, on Sept. 25, 1858. Charles died there in the late fall of 1862. They also had 2 daughters, Jessie Wisner, born March 10, 1863 in town, and Mary (I think born
sometime between Oscar and Jessie). In the fall of 1863 Sarah and the children moved to Ohio, where Charles's brother, John Thomas Wisner, was a dentist in Wooster. I have no death records for Charles or birth records for any of the children. I would appreciate any information on any of these people. Thanks.
