This is a good one...Andrew W. McClarren (McLaren, Mcclaren) son of William McClarren who died about 1840-45, d. 1878-1880 (youngest child born in 1879). Was in the Civil War. Wife was Elizabeth Smith and she also died about 1880. Two of their children (Maggie aged about 20 and Freddie about 1) were listed in the Wilson Wright family as cousins to Wilson's children. All except the oldest ended up in the orphange in Davenport. Maggie married George Briles son. I have been totally unable to connect the two families so hoped that a will might bring to light other relatives.
Dr. D. Parvel Johnson don't have a clue as to date of death. His wife Sarah (Bumgardner) died Feb 16, 1920 so guess that he may have died prior to her.
Thornton's: Nelson Levi (1843-45) and Winifred (1849-1851) Martha Thornton (Nelson's mother) ??(Bartlott (Lott) Thornton , Nelson's Brother married Mary Wright. I found a will for a Bartlott Thornton but I'm not sure that it is the same person. So hoping that other Thornton's wills will clear up the problem.
George and Hester Briles both died pre 1880. Hester was Ruhama Hall Wright's mother and 1st husband was possibly Ira Hall.
I really appreciate any help that you can give me. This is really no big hurry since I have been trying to piece things together for many years and this is a group that I am nor trying to figure out this year.
I truly think that several of my family lines had to have been horse thieves or worse since they seem to leave no trace or else none of them could get along so after one generation they all go their own ways!!Thanks so much Nancy Wright Neipert Neiperts@worldnet.att.net

I now believe my ROSENKRANS line is probably:1) Herman Hendrick ROSENKRANS, b. Nov. 29, 1634, Bergen, Norway, d. abt1697, Rochester, Ulster County, New York. He married, on Mar. 3, 1656/57,New Amsterdam, Magdalena Dircksen VOLCKERSTEN, b. 1631, Bushwick, LongIsland.2) Alexander Augustus ROSENKRANS,b. Apr. 12, 1659, Kingston, NY, d. July1746, Walpack, Morris Co., NJ. Married Dec. 11, 1713, Marretjen DEPUE, b.Apr. 24, 1681, Kingston, Ulster Co., NY, d. aft. 1745.3) Johannis ROSENKRANS (#2), b. May 18, 1724, Rochester, Kingston, NY,baptised July 6, 1724, d. June 15, 1786, Walpack, Morris, NJ. Married 1st,Aug. 11, 1745, Kingston, NY, Susanna SCHOONMAKER; married 2nd, Aug. 8,1751, Kingston, NY, Margaret DEWITT, b. Apr 18, 1731, Rochester, Kingston,NY, d. aft. 1786, Ulster Co., NY.4) John ROSENKRANS, b. July 6, 1752, Shappanack, Walnack, Sussex Co., NJ,d. bef. 1833, Farm, Shappanack, Walpack, NJ. Married abt. 1777, ElizabethVAN NEST.5) Isaac ROSENKRANS married Polly BRINK, b. abt. 1781, Sandyston, SussexCo., NJ, d. aft. 1855.6) Lydia Jane ROSENKRANS. I'm pretty sure that she is my 4th greatgrandmother, Lydia ROSENKRANS, who married Joseph N. HARKER, Aug. 19, 1837(The "N." probably stood for Northrup, since Sarah's maiden name wasNORTHRUP).There isn't any information I could find on this Lydia Jane ROSENKRANS, butmy Lydia ROSENKRANS was b. abt 1815, so the timeline would match. Here's a possible hangup: In the 1860 census, Jane HARKER is listed in theHARKER household at age 19. She is not listed in the HARKER household inthe 1850 census, which makes me wonder if she was adopted. Do you know ifthere's a way to check this? Are there state census's I can look at?Thanks again,Brad Aumickaumick@gte.net
I have his obituary. I am looking for anything that would list his wife'smaiden name. I believe it to be DeLucy or Lucy, first name Elizabeth. Also I am looking for her date of death and obit on her. She survivedJames H. who died in Muscatine about 1869. She is still listed on the 1870census in Muscatine, living on the family farm which she quit claimed toher son, William T. Dunn. He and his wife, Mary Morrin, are shown to be inWilliamsburg, Iowa County by the 1880 census, but no mention of his mother. Any light you can shed would be appreciated. Thank you for your consideration.
