December, 2007 I have finished the Canby Cemetery photos. If the one you are looking for is not there, let me know. The transcription was finished in September.
December, 2007 I have taken the Thanksgiving cards down and put up Christmas cards. They randomly load as visitors go to the website. They were all mailed to people in Adair County during the early 1900's. Here is a link to the cards and their messages.
November, 2007 I have finished the transcription and the photos for the Pioneer Cemetery known as Winn Cemetery. The biography of Monroe Winn is on the website under biographies.

September 10, 2007 The transcription for the Canby Cemetery is on the website. Take a look. I have started to put the photos of the gravestones on the internet.
May 5, 2007 The Cochrane family photos and documents are on the website. Take a look at the documents. Take a look at the photos.
April 23 , 2007 I have added some more surnames and updated the map section to include the 1904 Township maps.
March 22, 2007 I have added two bios with photos. Please take a look.
February 26, 2007 Greenfield High School Graduates page is complete. Graduates from 1859 to 1920 are listed. Take a look.
February 19, 2007 I am continuing to add to the education page. I have been working on Richland Township. Also, I started a page for Greenfield High School Graduates. I have completed a list of graduates from 1859 to 1900.
February 1, 2007 I have added a link on the Military page to Iowa 7th Calvary information. I added Henry and Nicholas Henning's bio and added to the History of Euerka Township.
January 15, 2007 Today I continued to work on the Education, History and Cemetery pages. I concentrated on Euerka Township.
January 14, 2007 I have been a little lax in updating this "What's New" page. So here goes. I will list everything new since the last entry in September. New 1976 Orient Township map uploaded. History of Orient twp added. Hoffstatter biography added. Orient cemetery history added. Orient education page added. New Education page started.
September 13, 2006 I have uploaded the transcriptions of the Louck's Grove cemetery. One is in alphabetical order and the other is listed by plots.
September 8, 2006 I posted two photos of young Adair men from the late 1880's. Check them out here.
July 17, 2006 I have returned from a trip to Adair County and am starting to post gravestones photos taken on my trip. I have uploaded Old Union and Pleasant Grove photos. Please take a look.
March 30, 2006 I have completed a transcription of the Penn Ave. Cemetery.
March 26, 2006 I have added a new section to the photo page. It contains mystery photos that you would like to have identified or would like to give to the proper families.
March 11, 2006 I am continuing to add surnames to the list. If you haven't sent yours, consider doing it now.
February 14, 2006 I have added more information concerning the townships. This was in response to a visitor's request.
January 29, 2006 Good News! Our volunteers (all listed on the WPA web site) have now completed the full transcription for the Adair County WPA Project. There are now 7,467 records for Adair county online in the state-wide database.

One of the great things about this site is that a visitor can search one county at a time or they can plug in a surname and search the entire state database at once, over 1/2 million names presently. It also has soundex search ability and a very popular "Post-em Note" feature which allows visitors to add to or correct the existing data and also to make themselves known to "yet to be discovered" cousins.

January 8, 2006 New Photos are being added on a daily basis. Check them out. Send me yours so I can add them to the site.
December 30, 2005 A new section called Biographies is now on the website. I am indexing biographies with photos and without photos. I invite you to contribute your bios and include photos if you have them.
December 28, 2005 I have added new photos to the photo index. They were contributed by a visitor to the site. Thank you!
December 26, 2005 I have been adding names to the surname page as they have come in. Thank you to the contributors.
September 16, 2005 I have started a surname page. Please contribute the surname or names that you are researching.
September 8, 2005 I have finished the transcription for Prussia Center Cemetery.
August 10, 2005 I have completed the gravestone photos for Prussia Center Cemetery. There are 112. The transcription is also complete and being proof read.

I have added a military page. I am continuing to work on the Prussia Center Cemetery transcription. I also have more gravestone photos ready for viewing.
July 14, 2005 I have added Township names to the cemetery index.
June 23, 2005 I added some patriotic photos and post cards to the slide show on the home page. I thought they were appropriate for honoring Fourth of July. Click on the refresh button on your browser to cycle through the photos.
June 22, 2005 The cemetery pages that I currently have photos for are on the website. I will be adding directions to each cemetery in the near future. Click here for the cemetery index.
June 16, 2005 I now have photos of seven cemeteries on the web. Please visit this link to find the cemetery index.
May, 2005 My daughter and I visited Adair County. We drove to the cemeteries and photographed the entrances and a representative photo or two of the cemetery. I will be putting these on the website soon.
April 6, 2005 The 1904 township maps have been started. They will be accessible through the map page for the the individual townships. For instance.
March 26, 2005 I have added a document page to the web site. I have put on one document to start with. If you have any documents that you would like to contribute, please email me for details.
March 12, 2005 The 1875 Township maps are complete and on the website. Please visit by clicking here.
February 15, 2005 I have had several requests for Township maps, so I have started to put them up on the site. I am about half done at this date. Check out the maps.
February 12, 2005 In honor of Presidents Day, I added a page called Patriotism. It has photos that show how Adair county folks honored our country years ago.
February 8, 2005 A new link to Family Group Sheets is now on the site. This is another great link that will be a wealth of information. Please consider submitting your family group sheets.
February 5, 2005 I have spent the morning updating some more links. There are some links to other web sites that I have had to make inactive because I can't find their site. I added a link to Old Iowa Press. This promises to be a fun project. Dig up those old newspaper articles and submit them.
January 29, 2005 I have added more photos and a photo index page in order to navigate to them.
January 22, 2005 I have added a "School" page with two links, a "What's New?" page, and a "Post Card" page with a link to it.
January 17, 2005 I have added a photo page with three photos of early residences of Adair County contributed by Jeff Klein.
January 2, 2005 I have been checking links and doing other site maintenance. I also have been checking the other Iowa GenWeb sites in order to better know my job.
December 25, 2004 I received notification that I was approved to adopt this site. What a great Christmas present to myself. I am very excited about being the new coordinator!
