Junior Class

There's only one more step to the top of the ladder. Five years of climbing and the Juniors are ready for the
last year. Soon they can call themselves, with PRIDE, "The Seniors of Grand Valley High."
Sophomore Class

The sophomores are the working class. They have finally received the privileges of senior high, only to discover that
some of the privileges are not exactly what they seem. They invade THE SCENE bringing new blood to clubs. They're
ready to take the changing world by storm.

The enthusiastic conglomeration of excitement and dread mixed together is almost equal parts forms the freshman class. Always
ready to volunteer; the "frosh" students in the high school life - ready to run to the center stage when they hear their call
and grasp the responsibilities waiting for them. Always underfoot, this is the year of apprenticeship. But look out world,
here they come.
Grand Valley Welcomes Foreign Exchange Student
Paulo Almeido
Paulo is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ntario Brez de Almeida of Recife, Brazil. Both of his parents are doctors, and Paulo
also plans to become a doctor. He has a sister, Silvia, who is studying to be a psychologist. Paulo was at Grand Valley
for three months, staying in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Hosfield. Our school system was completely different to
Paulo. When asked about Grand Valley, Paulo remarked, "I like the school, the people, but I don't like the food because
it is very much different." Paulo returned to Brazil in March to complete his last year of high school.

In a short time TIGER MEMORIES will lose its immediate appeal. In a short time, too, it will serve as some adult's
key to reminiscence. As remembrance is one of a yearbook's purpose, TIGER MEMORIES serves well only if it causes
readers to remember high school in Grand Valley 1970-71.
