Seeking info on ancestor who reportedly died in Ma_keta

Hello,

I am seeking information about a GrGrGr-Grandmother of mine named Sally Caroline (Averill) Balcom, whose second marriage was to a Mr. MEARS or Meers.
According to an old family letter, Mr. MEARS ran a hotel in Ma_keta, Iowa, and my GrGrGr-Grandmother died and was buried in Ma_keta around 1869 or later.
If anyone has information regarding the date of her death and her place of burial, or additional information about she or Mr. MEARS, I would greatly appreciate it.
