Judy, thank you for sharing your information! So far, I have found out very little about the Clayton County group. I haven't found anything at all in old newspapers or journals, and have sort of reached a dead end on the subject. Clearly they actually went; I did find a descendent of John Bass whose mother had a gold nugget from the trip, but a burglar stole it several decades ago.
