The Tingley high school alumni banquet was held Saturday, May 26, 2007, at the Tingley community building with 104 attending and enjoying a buffet provided by the Tingley UMW. Cursin' Back to Tingley and Those Fabulous 50's was the theme chosen by the FERGUSON family (Donna, Darl, hugh, Gay Lou and Gary) who served as the co-presidents this year. Poddle skirts and 45 records were hanging on the walls along with a large orange and black Cruisin' in the 50's sign. Decorating the tables were replicas of 50's convertibles with the front seat filled with "penny" candies and a bag of peanuts to put in their coke. The FERGUSONS presented a thank you gift to Doris BEEN who again printed the invitations, mailing labels and program booklets. Special thanks to Cleone OVERHOLTZER HOSFIELD for mailing all the invitations.

Darl FERGUSON gave the invocation. Hugh FERGUSON gave the welcome and a candle was lit as names of this past year's deceased alumni members were mentioned. During the business meeting, Sue RICHARDS read the 2006 minutes and Karen WEEDA PETTINGER gave the treasurer's report with a balance of $1,194.72 for 2006. The OVERHOLTZER family (Cleone, John and Jenesse) will host the alumni banquet May 24, 2008.

Letters were read from Lynna LINKEY HOOVER, class of 1927, Wayne WEEDA, class of 1937 and daughter of Billy MILLER, class of 1936.

John ALLEN entertained the group with facts, memories and Top 10 songs in the 1950's. He sang "Bye Bye Happiness," "Peggy Sue" and the Statler Brothers' "The Class of '57." Then he sang the words written by Jim and Mary Sue McINTOSH about the THS Class of '57. Sue RICHARDS read a poem about getting ready for her 50th class reunion.

The roll call of classes was given by Hugh FERGUSON. Those graduates in attendendance marking special anniversary years were:

Emcee Hugh FERGUSON entertained the group with stories of his school days when he was a teacher. Several members of the 50-year class told about their reunion train trip to Glenwood Springs, CO as they had just got back the day before. Sue was surprised with a thank you gift from the class for making all the trip arrangements.
