Great Western Bank makes donation
The Mount Ayr Community School Districet is planning on renovating the elementary playground before the beginning of the 2027-2018 school year. The project will include getting rid of old equipment getting rid of wood chips, and moving the remaining equipment to different locations on the playground. The renovations will also include replacing the wood chips with rubber tile and purchasing new equipment to add to the playground. The estimated cost of the playground renovations is $250,000.The Mount Ayr Community School District recently applied for a Making Life Great grant from Great Western Bank. Here is a portion of the letter that the district received from Great Western Bank: "Dear Mr. Elwood, "On behalf of everyone at Great Western Bank we are delighted to present Mount Ayr Community Schools with a Making Life Great grant for $5,000. We recognize the good work that Mount Ayr Community Schools does to create excellence in education. It's certainly our privilege to be able to support the efforts in your comunity." Mount Ayr Community Schools would like to thank Great Western Bank for helping us with our goal of providing students of Mount Ayr Elementary and families of Mount Ayr with a playground they can be proud of. This generous grant from Great Western Bank will help Mount Ayr in beyond providing the obvious. It not only provides a safe place for our children to play, it also shows the community cares and is invested in our future.
