Pride of Iowa band festival here Tuesday
Mount Ayr Community high school will host the Pride of Iowa honor band festival Tuesday, Feb. 22. Selected members from the
bands of the 12 member schools in the Pride of Iowa conference will join for a day of practice in preparation for a concert
at 7 p.m. Tuesday night in the high school auditorium. The concert will also feature music by the Graceland University
concert band. Representing the Mount Ayr Community high school concert band in the festival will be Alexis JOHNSON,
Chris KING, Grant LARSEN, Lucas SMITH and Garrett STORHOFF. Directing the conference honor band will be Terry GLADFELTER,
principal at Southeast Warren Community high school and a former high school band director in Florida. The honor band
will play "Trombone King," "Music Man," "Shenandoah," "Chant and Jubilo" and "Gallop." Preceding the honor band concert,
the Graceland University concert band, under the direction of Michael COMPTON, will perform.
