Rick writes, saying, "Cleo Bastow Gardner was born and raised at Mt. Ayr. Her father, Jowett Bastow, farmed about a mile from Mt. Ayr to the southwest of town. Cleo's grandfather, Jowett Sr., came to Mt. Ayr from England via Ontario to Mt. Ayr about 1855."
