New look for Mount Ayr Community Elementary School
Some of the old has been added to the new at Mount Ayr Community elementary school. The old stone door lintel
from the 1936 school building has a new home outside the front door of the elementary school building which
will have its first full year of use this school year. Rocks that marked other years are part of a garden
landscaped area on the northwest corner of the elementary school grounds. Classes get underway Tuesday, Aug.
23, in the Mount Ayr Community school district.
