Elementary concert February 6
The fourth through sixth grade winter vocal and band concert will be held on Monday, Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. in the MAC elementary gym.The concert will be a tribute to veterans and active members of the military, as well as a remembrance of the 15th anniversary of 9/11 and the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor. Veterans and military personnel and their families are invited to attend the concert and be recognized for their service. Fourth grade songs include "This Is America," "Allegiance Rap" and "My Flag." Fifth grade songs include "Blue and Red and White," "We Will Not Forget" and "The Heart of America." Sixth grade songs include "Thankful for the USA," "Thank A Vet" and "The Star Spangled Banner." The fifth and sixth grade bands will also perform. The fifth grade band will be playing songs from their method book tha correlated with concepts that they have learned so far. The sixth grade band will perform "Rock This Band," "Power Rock" and "Battle Creek March." Both bands will join together to play "Hard Rock Blues" as a fanale. "The students have been working very hard in preparation for this concert," said elementary music director Carol Cason, "and we hope that you will join us as we salute all those who have served or are currently serving in our military." The fourth through sixth grade winter concert was held Monday evening. The concert was a tribute to veterans and active members of the military, as well as a remembrance of the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Mount Ayr K-3 concert March 30
The Mount Ayr K-3 Spring Concert will be held on Thursday, March 30 at 7 p.m. in the elementary gym.Kingergarten songs will include Easter Basket Pink, I Can Do That! and Alphabet Song. First grade will sing Follow the Rainbow, Mister Sun and There Once Was a Family. Second grade songs will be Shortnin' Bread, Little Ol' Cowboy and Apples and Bananas. The third graders
will sing Catch the Rhythm, A Brand New Song and What Do you Do With a Water Waster? "The students have been working hard and are excited to present their Spring Concert!" said director Carol Cason. "We hope you will join us on the 30th!"

Elementary concert set for Monday
The Mount Ayr elementary fourth, fifth and sixth grades will present their spring vocal concert, "Summer Fun," at 7 p.m. Monday, April 17 in the elementary gym.
Fourth grade songs will include "The Tree Toad," "Allunde, Alluia," "Octopus' Garden" and "The Crawdad Song/Chasin' the Crawdad." The fifth graders will perform "Say What?" "Family Reunion." "Down at the Beach" and "Ode to a Marshmallow." The sixth grade will sing "Pizza Love," "Yakkin' On a Cell Phone," "Surfer Dudes" and "Couch Potato." The fourth grade classes will also be playing a couple of songs on their recorders. "We hope you can join us for a fun concert as we wrap up the school year and gear up for summer vacation!" said elementary vocal director Carol Cason.
