Pledges begin new school year Tuesday morning

It's become a tradition at the Mount Ayr Community elementary school to gather at the flag pole to recite the
pledge of allegiance and the Character Counts pledge on the morning of the first school day of the new school
year. Students and staff gathered at a net site on the south side of the elementary school ~ the school's new
"front door" ~ to take part in the school opening ritual Tuesday morning. School began in all three Ringgold
county area school districts Tuesday morning.
