"Wild Pink" will be presented this Friday and Saturday, March 6 and 7, at 7 p.m. in the MACHS auditorium, directed by Shaun Kneip. Play Description:
A hog farmer has five smart sons but absolutely no money to send them to college. A rich, snooty, old maiden aunt has a fortune but years ago she made it
clear that she wanted nothing to do with the farmer's family. What to do? The five boys don wigs, dresses, heels and even Wild Pink fingernail polish for a
challenging weekend visit with their estranged aunt. Their desperate mission: to convince her she has five beautiful nieces who are worthy of her millions.
And worthy they are when the boys discover someone is embezzling their aunt's money. Switching between being their boyish and more "feminine" selves, they set
up a trap to catch the thief, never realizing they've been set up as well!!

Playwright makes surprise appearance
We sometimes hear of a famous actor sneaking into a showing of one of his films to gauge audience response. But how many times
does a playwright attend a high school production of one of her plays? That's just what happened Saturday night at the MAC Drama Club performance
of "Wild Pink." Playwright Margaret Witt, author of "Wild Pink," stepped forward at the end of the show and introduced herself to the cast
and crew. "I didn't know that she was coming at all," said MAC drama director Shaun Kneip. "It ws probably one of the coolest moments this weekend
for the kids and myself." Kneip said Witt is the English and Spanish teacher at River Valley Community Schools in Correctionville and writes a new
play for her students to perform each year. Of all those plays, Witt has published three, including "Wild Pink," with the Eldridge Publishing
Company. Eldriege announces upcoming performances of its plays on its website, and Witt checks the schedule from time to time to see if any productions
of her plays are within travel distance for her. Even though Correctionville is nearly 200 miles from Mount Ayr, Witt decided to make the journey to see the production first-hand.
Kniep reported Witt told the Drama Club their performance of her play was "well worth her time."
