Homecoming next week This year's theme "Rock of Ages"
Homecoming queen candidates include (L-R) Kirsten Dolecheck, Shaley Miller, Ashton Quick, Laura Davison and Maddie Mobley. The queen will be crowned
following the jersey auction Thursday, September 24, in the MAC gymnasium.
Homecoming king candidates include (L-R) Caleb Schnoor, Kyle Dolecheck, Rhett Murphy, Trevor Gooding and Logan Stark. The king will be crowned at the
conclusion of the Thursday September 24 Homecoming activities.
Next week is Homecoming at Mount Ayr Community High School. The theme for this year's Homecoming is "Rock of Ages," and each day will be celebrated as
a dress-up day by Mount Ayr students. Monday is Pajama or Sweat Pants Day, Tuesday is Dress up Day, Wednesday is Neon Day, Thursday is Rock of Ages Day
and Friday is Spirit Day. Thursday Community activities kick into high gear Thursday, September 24. The annual Friends of Football supper will
run from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the high school commons followed by the popular jersey auction in the gym at 6:45 p.m. Following the auction, the 2015 Homecoming
queen will be crowned by last year's queen, Christiana Overholtzer. Queen candidates include Laura Davison, daughter of Robert and Julie Davison of Maloy;
Kirsten Dolecheck, daughter of Lesa and Rob Stackhouse of Mount Ayr and Roger and Linda Dolecheck of Ellston; Shaley Miller, daughter of Jeremy and Barb
Weeda of Tingley; Maddie Mobley, daughter of Greg and Amy Mobley of Maloy; and, Ashton Quick, daughter of Bruce and Kris Quick of Tingley. The evening
continues with a dodgeball tournament and the senior parents' skit. Thursday activities will conclude with the crowning of the 2015 Homecoming king
by last year's king, Riley Weehler. King candidates include Kyle Dolecheck, son of Lesa and Rob Stackhouse of Mount Ayr and Roger and Linda Dolecheck
of Ellston; Trevor Gooding, son of Christy and Brad Still of Kellerton and Mike and Julie Gooding of Des Moines; Rhett Murphy, son of Jared and Leslie
Murphy of Mount Ayr; Caleb Schnoor, son of Marty and Jackie Schnoor of Mount Ayr; and, Logan Stark, son of Joe and Tammy Stark of Kellerton.
[Page 4] Friday On Friday, September 25, beginning at 1:30 p.m. the Homecoming parade will wind around the Mount Ayr square and conclude at the
high school just in time for the community/school pep rally at the football complex at 2:15 p.m. The Band Boosters will hold their cookout west of the
home bleachers beginning at 5:30 p.m. Kickoff for the Homecoming football game against Nodaway Valley is set for 7 p.m. At halftime the Homecoming court
will be recognized on the track in front of the home bleachers. Included in the court are princess Ryley Greenwell, daughter of Aaron and Laura Greenwell of
Ellston, and prince Ben Coulson, son of Scott and Katie Coulson of Mount Ayr. Following the game a dance will be held at the high school.
Saturday The weekend concludes with the Mount Ayr Community Schools Hall of Fame banquet and induction ceremony Saturday, September 26 in the
high school commons. The even will honor the newest inductees into the MAC Fall of Fame: Raymond Baker, Larry Giles, Mark Larsen and
Chet Roed. The evening opens with a social time at 5:30 p.m. with the dinner and induction ceremony to follow.

Successful Homecoming for Raiders
The Mount Ayr Raiders made it four straight wins over Nodaway Valley in the "Battle for the Rock" with a 61-0 victory Friday evening in the
homecoming game. The 2015 Mount Ayr Homecoming court (below) included (front row, L-R) princess Ryley Greenwell, king Rhett Dolecheck,

Mount Ayr blanks Nodaway Valley, 61-0, in Homecoming win
[Page 11] It was Homecoming for the Raiders Friday night as they hosted the Nodaway Valley Wolverines which also meant it was the Battle for the
Rock. The Raiders were able to secure a 61-0 win and keep the "Rock" in Mount Ayr another year.
