MACHS FFA Awards Banquet
New honorary Chapter Farmer awardees and escorts at the Mount Ayr Community FFA banquet
Monday night included, from left:
Doug and Dayna Campbell, Bob and RaNa Bailey and son Ryan Bailey; Dave and Beverly
Inloes, Royce Dredge, Justin Cole and his mother Terri Cole, Carol Snook, son William Snook and Anthony Snook;
and Erin Doolittle, son Michael Doolittle and Nick Doolittle.
At the Mount Ayr Community high school FFA Chapter awards banquet it was announced that at least two chapter members will receive
their American Farmer degrees this year. Principal Darrel BARTLING will also receive an honorary State Farmer award at the
state meeting and will be named the outstanding school administrator of Iowa by the FFA later as well. In addition,
several people who already had received hoorary chapter farmer awards were recognized again this year. They included Jack
and Jo COOK, Mark and Janelle BAKER, Randy and Christine BISHOP, Fred and Lisa WILSON and Marla SHIFFLET.
Other awardsAwards were made for contest groups who have received honors at the end of last
year and during the current year. They included: Conduct of meetings team which received a gold at sub-district
and silver at district -- James WALKUP, Brandon WERNER, Brenna SWANSON, Taylor CAMERON, Ethan ANDRESEN, Tim REDDING, Ryan
THOMPSON (sub-district) and Christy JOHNSON (district).Greenhand quiz team which
received gold at sub-district -- Tyler HOSFIELD, Tyler CAMPBELL and Brock STILL.Creed speaker who received bronze
at sub-district -- Kaylin BERGER.Chapter quiz team which received gold at sub-district and gold at district --
Tara BAKER, Matt WIMER, Nick HUNTER and Kelsey MEESTER.Program and activities team which received gold at
sub-district, gold at district and advanced to state -- Chelsea CAMPBELL, Michael INLOES and Ryan BAILEY (who ran the
computer at district.)Job interview which received silver at sub-district -- Scott COOK.State greenhand
quiz team which received silver at state last year -- Caleb STEEN and Tara BAKER. Parliamentary procedure team
which received gold at sub-district and gold at district -- Ben GRAHAM, Brian INLOES, Joe CATANZARETI, Zach LYNCH, Caleb
STEEN and Brennon SHIELDS (alternate). Radio broadcasting which received silver ast sub-district -- Debra WILSON.
Secretary's book which received gold at district and advanced to state -- Scott COOK and Jake STEEN. Treasurer's
book which received silver at district -- Kyle HAYSE and Cody SOBOTKA.Reporter's scrapbook which received silver at
district -- Debra WILSON and Adam JACKSON.State agronomy team which received silver at state in 2004 -- Adam
JACKSON, Cody SOBOTKA, Cameron COLLIER and Alan PENNINGTON.State ag mechanics team in 2004 -- Kevin THOMPSON and
Michael DOOLITTLE.Soil judging contest which received gold at districts in 2004 -- Adam JACKSON, Cameron COLLIER,
Cody ROBERTS and Cody SOBOTKA.State team ag sales -- Levi CAMERON, Nathan CREVELING, Cody SOBOTKA and Cameron
COLLIER. Ag communications which will be competing at state -- Brian INLOES, Zach LYNCH, John MARSHALL and Megan
REED.New officersNew officers for the 2005-06 school year were also installed at the meeting.
They included: Amy WEEDA, president; Brian INLOES, vice president; Joe CATANZARETI, secretary; Ethan ANDRESEN, assistant
secretary; Cody SOBOTKA, treasurer; Zach LYNCH, assistant treasurer; Brandon WERNER, reporter; Sarah BAKER, assistant
reporter; Adam JACKSON, sentinel; and John MARSHALL, parliamentarian.
