Class of 1960 to have reunion
The Mount Ayr Community school graduating class of 1960 will have their reunion on the weekend of May 27 and 28. The
members will be meeting at Smith's Sports & Spirits on Friday evening and again on Saturday evening. All class members,
former teachers and friends are welcome. The committee is trying to locate the following members: Paul HANSEN,
Raymond STEWARD and Carol McMILLION VANCE. If anyone has information on these people, contact Mary Katherine GEPNER
or Joan JACKSON.

Mount Ayr Community High School
Class of 1960 Reunion
The 1960 graduating of Mount Ayr Community School held their 50-year reunion over Memorial Day weekend. On
Friday night the class met at Ramsey Farm for a nice meal, pictures and visiting. A brunch was served again at
Ramsey Farm on Saturday morning. The group toured the homes and buildings at the farm. In the afternoon there
was a tour of the Princess Theater and the Public Library. Saturday night the class was recognized as the 50-year
class at the all school alumni banquet. Those who were able to attend all or part of the weekend were planning
committee members, Paul BURRELL and his wife Marian from Aurora, CO, Connie SANDAGE MANUS and her husband
Charlie from Marble, CO and Dr. Marvin and wife Melanie LANE from Overland Park, KS. Others attending were
Jane BEAMER and husband Dick SIMPSON from Springfield, MO, Betty BRAND COBB from Amana, Marilyn BOWER and
her daughter Lisa from Des Moines, Ed and Karen RICKER BROWN from Maryville, MO, Lillie COMBS RINEHART from
Mount Ayr, Sharon FORCE and husband Roy KENNEDY from Rogers, AR, Lyndon and wife Janet HACKER from Poway, CA, Kenneth and
wife Karolyn HERREN from Beaver Dam, WI, Roger HORNE from Belton, MO, Dr. Jerry JOBE from Darien, IL, Joan
LYNCH and husband Wendel JACKSON from Maloy, Mary Kathryn MATTHEWS GEPNER from Benton, Ann MILLER FERGUSON from
Creston, Roger PALMER LaPalma, CA, Karen PAYNE SMITH from Urbandale, Janetta SALTZMAN and husband Allan HEGGS
of Norway, Marilyn SHIELDS and husband Jack FAY from Topeka, KS, Janice SKINNER CROSS MESSERSCHMIDT from
West Des Moines and Gene TRULLINGER from Union Star, MO. Cathy WARD from Mount Ayr and Jim WARD from Maryville, MO
were welcomed guests. The class agreed to meet in Mount Ayr in 2012 with Betty BRAND COBB, Ann MILLER
FERGUSON and Marilyn SHIELDS FAY as the planning committee.

Class of 1960
The Mount Ayr Class of 1960 held a weekend of getting together.Friday night a group met at Rumors. Classmates who attended were Ed and Karen

Lynn Jobe, Darien, IL. Saturday evening, the class members had a catered meal at the Catholic church in Mount Ayr. Classmates coming together there were:
