Class of 1949 Reunion
The Mount Ayr High School class of 1949 met for their 55th reunion on Friday evening, May 28, 2004. The reunion was held
at Lesanville, four miles east of Mount Ayr. The group met before their meal and had a guided tour of what's being done
to restore Lesanville to its original state. They enjoyed a delicious meal served by the ladies of the Wishard Chapel church.
The class has lost 12 members since their graduation, the latest being Carralou GREEN HANSON. News of the classmates was
discussed. It was decided to have another reunion in two years. Classmates in attendance were Daryl HOLDEN, Norma (REES)
CREVELING, Marilyn (DENHART) RICHARDS, Jim POTTORFF, Margaret (TURNER) BISHOP, Laurance BISHOP and Iona (BAKER) TRIGGS
of Mount Ayr. From out of town were Walter PRITCHARD of Clarinda, Phyllis (WOLDRUFF) BUCK of Creston, Ed BRYAN of Des Moines,
Harold COOPER of Kellerton, Shirley (BOOTHE) SANDAGE of Ottumwa, Belle (SICKELS) GUTHLAND of Blue Springs, Mo, Wiley WEBB of
Lenox and Elbert IRVING of Afton. Guests included were Shirley HOLDEN, Kenneth CREVELING, Robert RICHARDS, Judy POTTORFF,
Nola PRITCHARD, Dick BUCK, Phyllis BRYAN, Phyyis COOPER, Harold SANDAGE and Bob GUTHLAND.

Mount Ayr Class of 1949
The class of 1949 held a reunion on the 60th anniversary of their graduation from Mount Ayr high school. The reunion was
held Friday, May 22, at the Mount Ayr American Legion. The group enjoyed visiting, picture taking and the meal provided
by the Legion Auxiliary. Those present were Ed BRYAN and wife Phyllis of Des Moines; Beth RICHARDSON and husband Bob
TOLAND of Washington; Shirley BOOTHE and husband Harold SANDAGE of Ottuwma; Walter PRITCHARD and wife Nola of Clarinda;
Harold COOPER and wife Phyllis of Kellerton; Jim MAHAN of Leon, and Elbert (Jay) IRVING of Afton. Local classmates
attending were Norma REES and husband Kenny CREVELING, Margaret TURNER and husband Laurance BISHOP (both class members),
Iona BAKER TRIGGS and Daryl HOLDEN. Communication was received from Richard KIRBY, Dean GRINDSTAFF, Don DAUGHTON and Belle
SICKELS GUTHLAND. Some 22 members of the class are deceased but they were happy to report none had died since the reunion

Mount Ayr Class of 1949 Reunion
The Mount Ayr Class of 1949 held a reunion on the 61st anniversary of their graduation. The reunion was held
on Friday evening, May 28, at the Mount Ayr Restoration Branch Church. The group enjoyed visiting, picture
taking and the delicious meal prepared by Sue BECK and Kathy MYERS. Those present from out of town were
Beth RICHARDSON and husband Bob TOLAND of Washington, Shirley BOOTHE and husbnd Harold SANDAGE of Ottumwa,
Walter PRICHARD and wife Nola of Clarinda, Dean GRINDSTAFF and wife Ann of Lansing, KS, Harold COOPER and
wife Phyllis of Kellerton, and Elbert IRVING of Afton. Local classmates attending were Iona BAKER TRIGGS,
Norma REES CREVELING, Daryl HOLDEN and Margaret TURNER and husband Laurance BISHOP (both class members).
Marilyn DENHART and husband Robert "Hap" RICHARDS joined the group later. Communications were received from
Ed BRYAN of Des Moines, Belle SICKELS GUTHLAND of Missouri and Phyllis WOLDRUFF BUCK of Creston. Word
had been received of the death of classmate Richrd KIRBY on June 11, 2009, bringing the number of known
deaths to 23. The group will meet again next year on the Friday before Memorial Day.

Mount Ayr Class of 1949 Reunion
The Mount Ayr class of 1949 held the 62nd anniversary of their graduation Friday evening, May 27, 2011, at the Mount Ayr
Restoration Branch Church. The group enjoyed visiting, picture taking and the meal prepared and served by Kathy MYERS.
Those present from out of town were Ed BRYAN of Des Moines, Beth RICHARDSON and husband Bob TOLAND of Washington,
Shirley BOOTHE and husband Harold SANDAGE of Ottumwa, Walter PRITCHARD and wife Nola of Clarinda, Harold COOPER and
wife Phyllis of Kellerton, Phyllis WOLDRUFF BUCK of Creston and Elbert IRVING of Afton. Local classmates attending
were Iona BAKER TRIGGS, Norma REES CREVELING, Daryl HOLDEN and Margaret TURNER and husband Laurance BISHOP
(both class members). During the business meeting a letter was read from Belle SICKELS GUTHLAND of Blue Springs, MO.
It was noted that they had lost another classmate, John RUCKMAN, on November 7, 2010. That brings the number of
deceased classmates to 24. It was decided to meet again next year on the Friday before Memorial Day.

Mount Ayr Class of 1949
The Mount Ayr Community high school class of 1949 held their 63rd anniversary of their graduation Friday evening May 25,
at the Mount Ayr Restoration Branch Church. Much reminiscing was enjoyed along with picture taking. The meal was
prepared and served by Sue BECK and Kathy MYERS. Out of town guests were Jim MAHAN of Leon, Elbert IRVING of Afton,
Harold COOPER and wife Phyllis of Kellerton, Shirley BOOTHE SANDAGE and husband Harold of Ottumwa, and Halter PRITCHARD
and wife Nola of Clarinda. Local classmates attending were Iona BAKER TRIGGS, Norma REES CREVELING, Daryl HOLDEN, and
Margaret TURNER and husband Laurance BISHOP (both class members). There was communication with Dean GRINDSTAFF, Belle
SICKELS GUTHLAND, Ed BRYAN, Alma Lou GRAHAM KIDNEY, Bob and Beth RICHARDSON TOLAND and Hap and Marilyn DANHARD RICHARDS.
Plans were made to meet again next year on the Friday before Memorial Day.

Mount Ayr Class of 1949
The Mount Ayr high school class of 1949 held the celebration of the 64th anniversary of their graduation Friday evening,
May 24, 2013, at the Mount Ayr Restoration Branch Church. The group enjoyed visiting, picture taking and the meal prepared
and served by Sue BECK and Kathy MYERS. The group was especially pleased to welcome Don DAUGHTON and wife Sally of
Arizona who had only attended one other reunion. Also welcomed as special guests were Lyndon SHELDON and wife Edie of
Colorado. He had started to school with this class and later moved to Des Moines. Other classmates attending were Dean
GRINDSTAFF and wife Anne of Lansing, KS, Ed BRYAN and wife Phyllis of Des Moines, Walter PRITCHARD and wife Nola of
Clarinda, Shirley BOOTHE and husband Harold SANDAGE of Ottumwa, Jim MAHAN of Leon, Harold COOPER and wife Phyllis of
Kellerton, Elbert IRVING of Afton, Margaret TURNER and husband Laurance BISHOP (both members of the class), Daryl HOLDEN,
Norma REES CREVELING and Iona BAKER TRIGGS, all of Mount Ayr. There have been two deaths since last year's reunion --
that of Verle SALTZMAN and Belle SICKELS GUTHLAND.

Mount Ayr Class of 1949
The Mount Ayr high school class of 1949 held the celebration of the 65th anniversary of their graduation
Friday evening, May 23, at the Mount Ayr Restoration Branch Church. The group enjoyed visiting, picture taking and
the meal prepared and served by Sue Beck and Kathy White.Classmates were especially pleased to welcome Margaret
Danielson Wilson of Mount Ayr who had been a member of the class until high school and then moved to Redding and
graduated. Others from Mount Ayr attending were Lloyd Glendenning, Norma Rees Creveling, Iona Baker Triggs, Harold
Cooper and wife Phyllis and Margaret Turner and husband Laurence Bishop (both members of the class). Those from out of
town attending were Ed Byran and wife Phyllis of Des Moines, Walter Pritchard and wife Nola of Clarinda, Shirley Boothe
and husband Harold Sandage of Ottumwa, and Elbert Irving of Afton. The class recently learned of the death of Vincel Ferre
Casady in 2011. The only death since last year's reunion was Beth Richardson Toland on June 26, 2013. Next year's reunion
will be held at the same place on May 15, 2015.

The Mount Ayr High School class of 1949 held their annual reunion May 15, 2015 at the Mount Ayr Restoration Branch Church. The group enjoyed
visiting, picture taking and the meal prepared and served by Sue Beck and Kathy White.Traveling the farthest were Dean Grindstaff and wife of
Lansing, KS. Others from out of town were Ed Bryan and Phyllis of Des Moines, Walter Pritchard and Nola of Clarinda, Jim Mahan of Leon, and Elbert Irving
of Afton. Local classmates attending were Iona Baker Triggs, Harold Cooper and Phyllis, Lloyd Glendenning, Norma Rees Creveling, Margaret Turner and husband
Laurance Bishop (both members of the class). Also attending was Margaret Danielson Wilson, who was a member of the class until her family moved to Redding
where she graduated. We mourned the loss of two classmates since our reunion last year - Pat Main Prentis and Marilyn Denhart Richards. The decision was
made to meet again next year the week before Memorial Day.

Kathy White and assisted by Joel Beck. Ed Bryan returned thanks before we ate. Traveling from the farthest were Dean Grindstaff and Ann of Lansing, KS. Others from out of town were Ed Bryan and Phyllis of Des Moines,
Walter Pritchard andNola of Clarinda, Jim Mahan of Leon and Elbert Irving of Afton. Local classmates attending were Iona Baker Triggs, Harold Cooper and Phyllis, Lloyd Glendenning, Noram Rees Creveling, and Margaret
Bishop and husband Laurance Bishop (both members of the class). We were happy to note that as far as we know we had not lost any members since our reunion last year. We plan to meet again next year the
