Class of 1948 reunion
The Mount Ayr class of 1948 gathered at All Seasons Cafe Friday evening, May 23, 2003. There were 27 members and spouses
present. Those present included R. K. and Gerry WALLER of Kansas City, MO; Vern BROWN of Des Moines; Bill and Barb
(BUCK) BENTLEY of Clearfield; Jean (SLAVIK) SCHLAPIA of Ames; Harold RICE of Colo; Freeda (PAYTON) FAUST of Chariton;
Jean (THOMPSON) and Dale GRANT; Harold and Shirley SANDAGE of Ottumwa; Lola (TRIGGS) and Don LINK of Rapid City, SD; Gene
and Barbara SICKELS of Kellerton; and Sam and Evelyn SICKLES, Jim and Nina EASON, Doris (PRATT) and Norm KLEJCH, Edna
(WALTER) JONES and Bob BRYANT, Cyril GREEN and Joan HARVEY, all of Mount Ayr. Jim EASON did the emceeing. Each
class member gave a brief update on family and such. Minutes from the last meeting were read by Doris (PRATT) KLEJCH. A
moment of silence was shared while she read the names of their 12 deceased class members. Letters were shared from Annabelle
(STUCK) LINGUEST and Pat (RICE) KING. Jim EASON had called Lyle DRAKE and Lynden GREIMANN and gave a report on them. It
was decided that the next reunion would be in two years. Everyone thanked Lola for her extra help. The next reunion will be
at the same location if possible. After visiting and laughter, everyone departed looking forward to the next reunion.

Mount Ayr Class of 1948 Reunion
Members of the Mount Ayr Class of 1948 met at the Ringgold County Extension office community room in Mount Ayr on Friday
evening, May 27, 2005 with a meal catered by Virginia SCOTT to 23 classmates and guests. Barbara BENTLEY extended the
welcome and Harold SANDAGE gave the blessing before the meal. Each class attendee gave an update and highlights of the
past couple of years since the last get-together. Letters were read from Lola (TRIGGS) LINK of South Dakota, Annabelle
(STUCK) LINDQUIST of New Jersey and Mary Ann (MOORE) JACKSON of Alabama. The names of 12 deceased classmates were read and
remembered. It was decided to meet again in three years (2008) as that will mark the 60th year since graduation. Those
in the area who are willing to help will get the reunion organized. After much visiting and joking around, the group
departed looking forward to the next gathering. Those present were Sam and Evelyn SICKELS, Gene and Barb SICKELS, Jim and
Nina EASON, Deloris (McCOMBS) MEWES, Edna (WALTER) JONES and friend Bob BRYANT, and Doris (PRATT) and Norm KLEJCH, all of
Mount Ayr; Jean (THOMPSON) and Dale GROUT of Riverside, CA; Harold RICE of Commerce, CO; R.K. WALTER of Independence, MO;
Harold and Shirley SANDAGE of Ottumwa; Freeda (PAYTON) FAUST of Chariton; Joan (CHRISTIANSON) CRAIG and Jean (SLAVIK)
SCHLAPIA, both of Ames; Barb (BUCK) and Bill BENTLEY of Clearfield; Garnita (LAIRD) EWART of Bedford and Bud BROWN and
friend Roena, of Des Moines.

1948 Class reunion
The Mount Ayr high school class of 1948 gathered at the Ramsey Farm community room on May 23 for their 60-year
reunion. There were 17 class members and 10 guests present. Attending were Dolores (McCOMBS) MEWES, Sam and
Eveling SICKELS, Gene and Barbara SICKELS, Jim and Nina EASON, Doris (PRATT) and Norm KLEJCH and Edna (WALTER) JONES,
all of Mount Ayr; Harold RICE, Commerce City, CO; Joan (CHRISTENSEN) CRAIG and Jean (SLAVIK) SCHLAPIA of Ames; Garnita
(LAIRD) EWART and son, Bill EWART, of Bedford; Robert and Beth TOLAND of Washington; Jean (THOMPSON) and Dale GROUT
of Riverside, CA; Lola (TRIGGS) LINK of Rapid City, SD; Junior BROWN and guest, Janice SOBOTKA, of Des Moines;
Barbara (BUCK) and Bill BENTLEY of Clearfield; Harold and Shirley SANDAGE of Ottumwa and Freeda (PAYTON) FAUST of Chariton.
The noon mean was catered by Jim and Carol McCREARY. Lola LINK returned thanks. Jim EASON conducted the meeting as emcee.
The names of 17 deceased class members were read and remembered. Letters were shared from Mary Jo (CORNELISON) TRIMBLE of
California, Mary Ann (MOORE) JACKSON of Alabama and Annabelle (STUCK) LINDQUIST of New Jersey. After much visiting and
discussion, it was decided to meet again in 2010.

Mount Ayr Class of 1948
The Mount Ayr high school class of 1948 gathered at the Ramsey Farm Heritage House for their 62nd reunion on
Friday, May 29, at 11 a.m. The noon meal was catered by Ruth BLANTON and Lola TRIGGS LINK returned thanks.
Jim EASON welcomed the guests and thank yous were extended to secretary Lola LINK and to the planning
committee, Barbara BUCK BENTLEY, Doris PRATT KLEJCH, Jim EASON, Sam SICKELS and Edna WALTER JONES. Updates
and comments concerning absent classmates were discussed and letters from Mary Ann MOORE JACKSON of
Montgomery, AL and Jessie SAVILLE MOHR of Gowrie were shared. Get well cards were written to hospitalized
members, Gene SICKELS and Joan LESAN RINEHART. The names of 19 deceased classmates were read and remembered.
Plans were discussed for the next class get-together with the decision that it be held May 2011 at the same
location. Those attending the event were Jim and Nina EASON, Sam and Evelyn SICKELS, Doris (PRATT) and Norma
KLEJCH and Edna WALTER JONES, all of Mount Ayr; Wanda MICHELSON ADAMS of Kellerton; Junior BROWN of Des Moines;
Harold and Shirley SANDAGE of Ottumwa; Bob and Beth FOLAND of Washington; Jean (THOMPSON) and Dale GROUT
of Riverside, CA; Lola TRIGGS LINK of Rapid City, SD, and Joan CHRISTENSEN CRAIG and Jean SLAVIK SCHLAPIA of Ames.

Mount Ayr Class of 1948
The Mount Ayr high school class of 1948 gathered at the Senior Citizens Activity Center for their 64th reunion on Friday,
May 25. The noon meal was catered by the Redding Methodist Church Women and class member Lola (TRIGGS) LINK returned
thanks. Jim EASON welcomed the group and thank yous were extended to the secretary and the planning committee.
Information and up-dates concerning absent classmates were discussed and letters from Mary Ann (MOORE) JACKSON of
Montgomery, AL and Annabelle (STUCK) LINDQUIST of Bridgewater, NJ were shared. The names of deceased class members
were read and remembered. The group spent the remainder of their time together reminiscing of old school days and
events and discussing plans for the 2013 reunion to be held May 24 at the same location. Those attending were Harold
and Shirley SANDAGE of Ottumwa; Jean (THOMPSON) and Dale GROUT of Riverside, CA; Lola (TRIGGS) LINK of Rapid City, SD;
Freeda (PAYTON) FAUST of Chariton; Wanda (MICHELSON) ADAMS of Kellerton; Barbara (BUCK) BENTLEY of Clearfield, and from
Mount Ayr were Jim and Nina EASON, Gene and Barbara SICKELS, Junior BROWN, Doris (PRATT) and Norm KLEJCH, Sam and Evelyn

Class of 1948 Reunion
The class of 1948 held their annual reunion on Friday, May 23, at the Senior Citizen's Center with
15 in attendance, including classmates, and spouses/guests.Those attending were Vern ("Bud"/"Jr.") Brown,
Barbara (Buck) Bentley, Joan (Christiansen) Craig, Wanda (Michelson) Adams and guest, Chet Munyon, Freda (Payton) Faust,
Doris (Pratt) Klejch, Harold and (Shirley) Sandage, Jean (Slavik) Schlapia, Jean (Thompson) and Dale Grout, Lola
(Triggs) Link, and Edna (Walter) Jones and guest Bob Bryant. Everyone had a great time visiting, and sharing
memories. A delicious lunch was severed at the noon hour, by the Redding ladies, which everyone enjoyed.

All enjoyed a good visit and a delicious lunch served by the Redding church ladies.

Class of 1948
The Class of 1948 held their annual Class Reunion at the Senior Activity Center on May 26 with eight class members and four guests attending.They were Wanda Adams of Kellerton, Barbara Bentley and guest Kayla Bentley of Clearfield, Jr. "Bud" Brown and guest of Creston, Freeda Faust of Chariton, Edna Jones, Doris Klejch and Lola Link and guest Larry Sheldon, and Gene and Barbara Sickels, all of Mount Ayr. They enjoyed a lovely and delicious lunch, then had an especially great time reminiscing about some of the antics and not-so-fun admonitions by some of their very illustrious teachers and superintendent. After many hugs and goodbyes, each left with a warm, fuzzy feeling for the day.
