The Mount Ayr Community high school band brought home the first-place trophy in its class in the Loess

band members," said band director Greg STORHOFF. "The students did an excellent job at our first contest and came home
with the first-place trophy. The strange thing is that every time we go to the Loess Hills FieldFest, Mount Ayr is the
only band in its Class!" This year's marching band show is called "The Best of Kiss." Selections include "Rock and
Roll All Night" featuring the marching band chorus, "Beth" with trumpet soloist Matt POORE and piccolo solist Alex
YOUNG, and "Detroit Rock City" featuring the percussion section. Drum major for the Raider marching band is Allison
WALLACE, and color guard directors are Tiffany WIMER and Crystal STORHOFF. "The awards ceremony was very impressive,"
added STORHOFF. "There were 11 marching bands and approximately 700 kids on the field." Other bands at FieldFest
were West Central Valley of Stuart, Red Oak, Shenandoah, Underwood, Clarinda, Treynor, Atlantic, Glenwood, Council
Bluffs Abe Lincoln, Council Bluffs Lewis Central and Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson. Besides playing this Friday night
