Cheerleaders take part in program

Several Mount Ayr Community wrestling and basketball cheerleaders took part in a cheer and dance clinic hosted by four Kansas City Chiefs cheerleaders at the Creston high school. This was a fund-raiser for the Rural Iowa Crisis Center and was called "Cheer for Non-Violence."

The Mount Ayr Community cheerleaders who participated were Samantha Paxson, Courtney Flowers, Annie Uhlenkamp, Angel Handy, Johanna Scott and Alice Knapp.

The Kansas City cheerleaders talked about what it was like to be a cheerleader and taught all of the girls two cheer/dance routines which they performed later that day in a showcase of many different talented groups. The cheerleaders felt it was a great experience.
