The 2015 Mount Ayr high school Alumni Reunion was held May 23rd, 2015 at the Mount Ayr high school commons. In attendance were: Ruth (Moffatt) Angus, Doris (Trimble) Hannon, Neil and Irma Johnston, Thelma (Anderson) Rusk, Marietta (Stamper) Cobb, Norma (Swartz) French, Olive (Reynolds) Davis, Marjorie Putney, Jim Sheil and guests, Peggy (Foltz) Wagenknecht, Gerold and Jennie Willey, Bob Fay and Edna Jones, Lola (Triggs) Link, Laurance and Margaret (Turner) Bishop, Ione (Baker) Triggs, Norma (Olney) and Shelby Beauchamp, Lee Faris and guest, Janet (Hudson) Hickman, Rose (Johnston) James, Louise (Faris) Stamper, Beverly (Olney) McCord, Sybil (Denhart) Kelley, Bill and Kay (Ryan) Pritchard, Jim and Joyce (Baker) Ward, Walt and Beverly (Denney) McGinnis, Kathy (Larson) Blunck, Dan and Carol Coulson, Janet (Snethen) and Lyle Hogue, Carol (Carter) Jones and guest, Marilyn (Davis) Saville, Art and Sherry (Norris) Allen, Richard Pence, Ed and Kathy (Burright) Shields, Bernard and Marla Crawford, Warren Angus, Mike Avitt, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Elwood (Elementary School Principal), and special guests Greg and Crystal Storhoff.

The banquet opened with Alumni President Sherry Allen making announcements and introducing her husband, Art Allen, who gave the invocation. This was followed by a wonderful meal prepared by Donetta Phelps and her staff.

It was then time to recognize some class members. Ruth Angus was the earliest graduate present (1934) and Warren Angus (1975) was the latest graduate. Bill and Kay Pritchard were attendees who traveled the farthest, and Jim Ward, Joyce Ward (wife of Jim), and Iona Triggs (sister of Joyce) were the graduates with the most alumni present.

Mike Avitt then gave the treasurer's report follow by Janet Hickman's alumni scholarship report. This year, Laneesa Brand, COnnor Giles, Hannah Glendenning, Sarah Reasoner, Joe Ricker, and Riley Wheeler received scholarships from the Alumni Scholarship Committee.

At this time, elementary school principal Chris Elwood spoke about the status of the school system and gave an updae o nstructural improvements.

This was followed by our annual picture slide show narrated by Mike Avitt. Many of the photos were scanned from old high school yearbooks, the Ayrian, and showed many of our former classmates.

In closing, Art Allen led us in the singing of both Mount Ayr high school songs and reminded us of next year's Alumni Reunion being held May 28, 2016, at the Mount Ayr high school. See you there! The Mount Ayr High School Alumni Association thanks everyone for their participation.
