Gregg's westling season ends at State
By Rod Bastow

Quentin Gregg's storybook season in wrestling came to an abrupt end at the State Wrestling Tounament. The tournament ran from Thursday, February 18 through Saturday, February 20 and was held at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

Although Quentin wrestled the best he could, he couldn't match the strength and experience of his two opponents in the tournament.

Quentin was pinned by Hunter Pfantz of West Marshall-State Center in his first match. Pfantz quickly took Gregg down in the match. He turned him over with a half nelson and the pin soon followed.

In his consolation match Quentin lasted until the second period with William Kooi of West Lyon-Inwood. Quentin was overpowered in the match and found himself constatnly fighting to get off his back.

It closes a great season for Gregg as he finishes with a records of 31 and 20. He knows what he needs to do to make a return trip and to be able to advance further in the tournament. Count on hearing more from Quentin as he has three more years of competition for the Raiders.
