SCICF presents school with flag
Prior to the Mount Ayr basketball games December 5, the South Central Iowa Community Foundation formally presented
the Mount Ayr district with a motorized, roll-down American flag that will be used in conjunction with the playing of
the National Anthem.Pictured at the flag dedication are (L-R) Mount Ayr high school principal Lynne Wallace,
Mount Ayr board members Brandi Shay and P.J. West, Mount Ayr superintendent Joe Drake, and SCICF board members
Clint Spurrier, Kevin Creveling, Sue Beck and Barb Stephens. This year SCICF gifted every high school in their
five-county service area with these flags in an effort to inspire patriotism and to honor everyone who has served
in the military, past, prsent and future. SCICF has been making lasting positive change in Ringgold County since
1993. Each year more than $300,000 is awarded in grants for community improvements, scholarships and vital organizational
support.
