2014 - 2015 Raider bowling team

The Mount Ayr Raider bowling team includes:

MAC bowlers named all-district

The Mount Ayr bowling teams closed out their seasons last week with action at Class 1A State Qualifying tournament held Tuesday, February 18 in Council Bluffs. Mount Ayr Raiderettes finished in third place in the five-team tournament. The Raiders finished fourth among five teams in the tournament. Mike Zarr is their coach.

Junior Samantha Crawford led the Raiderettes in many categories. She totaled 2,909 pins for a 132 average. She also rolled the high game (179), high series (330) and high series average (264).

Nathan Roberts led the Raiders with his 3,277 pin total through 22 games. However, Ty Pollock recorded 3,077 pins in only 16 games. Pollack also paced the Raiders in average (192), high game (256), high series (481) and series average (481).

Several members of the Mount Ayr bowling team were named to the All-District 7 honor teams. For the Raiderettes, junior Samantha Crawford was named to the firest team, and junior Cheyenne Percifield was given honorable mention.

On the boys side, senior Blake Roberts was included on the second team while senior Ty Pollock as given honorable mention.

"Even though both teams did not make it to state, they did get the win over conference foe Lenox, whom they had close losses to in the Pride of Iowa tournament."
