Ellston Alumni Banquet

The annual Ellston Alumni Banquet was held May 23, 1987, at the Sun Valley Lake Clubhouse with 66 members and guests present.

LeRoy WOOD presided over the meeting with Lefty GEIST serving as treasurer and Donna SHIELDS as secretary.

Honored graduates included the 25-year graduates from the Class of 1962 with one member being present, Mrs. Donna (FAY) INFANDE of Bearfoot Bay, Florida, and the 50-year graduates from the Class of 1937 with five class members present. They included Mrs. Kathryn (O'GRADY) RICHARDS of Creston, Mrs. Pauline (GRAY) WOOD of Ellston, Carroll (Lefty) GEIST of Mount Ayr, and Willard and Georgia (DICKSON) HENDERSON of Des Moines. Letters from class members, Keith FOSTER and Geraldine (ADAMS) HAMPTON were read.

The graduate coming the furthest distance to attend the banquet was Donna INFANDE of Bearfoot Bay, Florida, and the earliest class represented was the Class of 1919 with Harley WILHELM of Ames attending. This made the 68th year that Mr. WILHELM had attended the alumni banquet.

Officers of this year agreed to keep their offices for next year. After the business meeting, the evening was spent visiting and dancing to the music of the Creveling Band.
