Lee and I were married June 26, 1938. We have two daughters and are very lucky to have wonderful son-in-laws. Each
daughrer has a son and a daughter. That makes us two granddaughters and two grandsons. The oldest granddaughter is
married. After we were married we lived in Mt. Ayr and Des Moines until Lee left to go into the service. While he
was in service I worked for an insurance company in Des Mones until we could be with him at an army camp. I came back
to Ellston when he went overseas and went ot work for the railroad here in Ellston. I worked as a depot agent until they
disbanded the railroad on December 31, 1945. Then I contracted to build a storage locker plant here in Ellston.
Lee
came home inApril of 1946 and we opened the plant on Nov. 5, 1946 and operated it until March 15, 1978. We didn't sell
at the time so we closed it. In January 1980, after we sold the locker plant, we put up our present home in Ellston.
We spend as much of our winter as we can in the valley in Texas. Spring, summer and fall find us around Ellston. We are
Western Square Dance fanatics and tow our travel trailer to a lot of festivities and conventions.
